The Vermilionville Performance Center will be the venue for a special showing of "The Soloist" this Monday, July 28th.

The Monsignor Sigur Center, operated by Catholic Services of Acadiana, is one of six programs in our area helping the homeless.

Center director Autumn DelaHoussaye says she picked this movie to show as a way to open up a dialogue about homelessness in Acadiana.

The movie is based on the life Nathaniel Ayers a musician who suffers from schizophrenia and ended up homeless.

The showing will be begin Monday at 6:30 p.m., and all donations raised during the screening of the fim will be donated to the Monsignor Sigur Center to help the homeless population in our area.

The free montly cultural film series, Les Vues, is held the last Monday of each month at the Vermilionville Performance Center.
