The very first airplane flight I ever took in my life was from New Orleans, Louisiana to Austin, Texas. I can't even remember the name of the airline it's been so long ago. What I do know is that Spirit Airlines has announced it will begin service between New Orleans and Austin in February of next year.

If you've never flown Spirit Airlines I can tell you from personal experience it's not a bad way to get from point A to point B. Yes, they are a no-frills airline. The Spirit flight that I took from New Orleans to Las Vegas last year didn't even have seats that reclined. But to be honest I didn't miss being able to lean back that full quarter of an inch that the other airlines give you.

With the announcement of the new daily non-stop service that is set to begin on Valentine's Day in 2019 Spirit has now upped their game when it comes to getting you from Louisiana to Texas. The carrier also serves Dallas Fort Worth and Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Depending on how you like to travel carriers such as Spirit Airlines can really save you a lot of money. Now, if you're a person who needs several checked bags, a couple of carry-on bags, a snack, and a blanket then you won't like Spirit Airlines. They have all of those things but you pay extra for them.

Since the flight time from New Orleans to Austin is only about 90 minutes I bet you could find a way to survive without being able to lean your seat back. And since you save a lot of money on your airline ticket you could even afford to eat at the airport. Nah, wait let's not go crazy here.
