The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office was called out to investigate a car on highway 90 in the Garden City area that was in a traffic lane, and the car was not moving.

Deputies say not only was the car not moving, but the car was also facing the wrong way in traffic.

Deputies say 22-year-old William Mora had an open container of alcohol in his car, and deputies say he later registered a 0.16 on his blood-alcohol test.

Mora has been charged with

  • Driving under suspension
  • Reckless operation of a vehicle
  • Possession of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle
  • Suspended driver's license
  • Driving while intoxicated

Mora was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration, and then he was released on a $6,000 bond.
