District State Senator Jonathan Perry joined "Nathan and Bernie in the Morning" to discuss Louisiana's ongoing legislative session.

One of the main issues that Perry discussed was Common Core.  The highly controversial program has taken criticism from parents, teachers, some legislators and others over the handling of the program.

Many have questioned why the implementation of the program was different in each school district, and as Perry suggests, many people just simply do not understand how the program is suppose to work to better students.

To this date this, there are legislators that voted for it....with good intentions....that kids would respond better, I personally didn't support it, and now I think there will be a tide that will grow to the end of the session where the program will be either delayed or cancelled, and the big question is what will take it's place?"

Perry adds that he does not think that Louisiana education officials did not do a good job of implementing and explaining the program.
