A pair of 19-year-olds has been arrested on drug charges and for a staged armed robbery on the UL Lafayette campus.

According to UL Police, the suspects, Brennan Anderson and Jacob Timothy were instrumental in organizing the staged robbery and the drug deal that occurred last Tuesday.

At approximately 3:44 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of an armed robbery near the Cajun Village Apartments on campus. They soon learned two of the three victims had assisted in setting up the robbery of the third individual. The suspects were identified and a search warrant was executed at an off-campus residence.

A search of the subjects' residence yielded some items that were taken in the robbery, as well as, narcotics (including, marijuana, Xanax pills, and ecstacy) and handguns.

Both men were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:

  • Conspiracy to commit armed robbery
  • Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • Possession with intent to distribute Xanax
  • Possession of ecstasy, possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Illegal carrying of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Obstruction of justice.

Timothy's bond was set at $77,000. Anderson's bond was set at $58,000.

Police said the case remains under investigation. More arrests are possible.
