Who knew that eating a diet rich in cheese could lead to so many health benefits? The French, apparently.

In an article on the dailymail, experts studied why French people tend to have low levels of cardiovascular disease, lower cholesterol levels and reduced risks of a heart attack. They found the French diet is rich in cheese and red wine. And, eating cheese and drinking wine earlier in the day has also shown to curb appetites.

"Anything with a higher fat content will keep you filling fuller, that's one of the principles behind the low carb diet," says Tiffiany Decou, the "Lafayette Food Junkie." "I notice when I drink red wine and cheese I'm not hungry. It does fill you up. Maybe there is something to this 'French Diet'."
