Trace Adkins is a very busy man.

Not only is he a country music star, but he also has established an acting career for himself. As a matter of fact, Trace will be appearing in the new film "Deepwater Horizon," which hits theaters nationwide September 30. The movie is based on the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and really focuses on the heroism of the crew.

Trace, who used to work offshore, says he is honored to be a part of the movie.

"I'm not a singer that used to work in the oilfield, I'm an oilfield man who sings."

In his interview with KPEL's Brandon Comeaux, Trace discusses how working on this movie had a personal impact on him, his new song 'Lit,' his upcoming performance at ‘Honorfest’ on November 11 in Lafayette and how he's been recently honored by the United States Army.
