A man driving a wastewater truck on the Frontage Road near Louisiana Highway 102 crossed the centerline, an his truck ended up rolling onto 58-Barbara Labouve's car, killing her.

State Police reports that the driver of the truck, 25-year-old Michael Lee of Texas tried to bring the vehicle back onto the westbound side of the road, but was unsuccessful.

A passenger in Labouve's car was flown to a Lafayette hospital for treatment of serious injuries, and the Lee was only had minor injuries.

Everyone in each of the vehicles were bucked up, and routine toxicology tests are being run.

Lee was cited for careless operation. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

There have been 24 deaths due to fatal crashes this year in the Troop D area.

The crash happened at around 6 o'clock Tuesday evening.
