We've asked our listeners to become Partners in Hope with St. Jude Children's Hospital, and if you're looking for a way to find it in your budget here are a few things you can give up.

You can call 1-800-372-4999 or or text FIGHT to 785-833 to become a Partner in Hope by pledging $20 a month or more in a credit card. $20 a month may seem a lot of money for some, but it's not nearly as much as you think.

Here are a few things that you could easily give up (or at least cut back on) and save more than enough money to become a Partner in Hope—helping to save lives and find the cure for these life threatening diseases.

Beer

The average beer drinker spends around 100 bucks per month on beer. We're not asking you to give up your precious brew, but by cutting back a couple of 12-packs you can make a St. Jude kid really happy!

Eating Out

The average American family spends around $225 a month eating away from home. Just like we did with beer, we aren't asking you to eat cereal and egg sandwiches at the house, but for literally one sit down meal outside of your home you can help a St. Jude patient get back to theirs. Think about it.

Coffee

We love fancy coffee just as much as the next basic American, but did you know that coffee drinkers spend just as much on coffee as beer drinkers spend on beer? That amounts to around $100 a month, and by skipping the drive thru just a couple times a month you can feel good knowing that as a Partner in Hope you're part of the fight to end childhood cancer!

Snacks

How many times have you hit the vending machine at work to grab at $1.25 bag of chips? It never fills us up, and it seems like we're constantly feeding it money. We seem to spend a good bit of cash on food while we're on the go, but the truth is we're paying more for convenience than actual food. When it comes to dollar amount, some studies have shown that we spend more on junk food than real food, and by cutting down on a few trips to the machine we could easily save cash and help out our little friends at St. Jude. Those bags are filled with mostly air anyway.

Dessert

This may be one of the hardest things to give up, but if your looking for extra cash to help the kids at St. Jude, giving up dessert is where you may find it. I know that almost sounds blasphemous, but nearly 50% of adults between the ages 18-44 order dessert at least once a week.

Who knows—you may be fortunate enough to become a Partner in Hope and still be able to afford all of these amazing treats. If that's the case, that is amazing and we thank you.

If not, one less beer, snack, dessert, fast food meal or trip to the vending machine per week will easily allow you to make that difference!
