Alleged Church Burglar Caught

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a man they say is wanted for stealing multiple items from Baldwin Baptist Church.

A detective called out to the scene on Thursday found out later that 35-year-old Ricky Tate Jr. had tried to pawn the items.

The missing equipment including tools, sound equipment and other items from the church.

The deputy arrested Tate for illegal possession of stolen things.

He was arrested at his home on Irish Bend Road in Franklin Easter morning.

Tate was booked into the St. Mary Parish Correctional Center.
