Bayou Teche Brewing & Tony Chachere’s Launch New Gumbo Stout
Beer goes well with just about everything. But should it be mixed with gumbo?
I guess you could find out if you chose to grab a six-pack of the latest concoction from Bayou Teche Brewing.
That's right, you can have a little gumbo and beer, in a bottle.
So how does this brew taste? A Bayou Teche spokesperson says adding the gumbo gives the beverage a "roasted and smoky flavor, with a hint of caramel accentuated by salt, cayenne, and black peppers."
"You could say it's the Cajun version of the Mexican Michelada…spicy, savory and thirst-quenching," said Brian Broussard, Bayou Teche Brewing's Brewmaster. "Gumbo Stout plays off of the savory flavors of Tony's Creole Roux with a nice, back-of-the-throat spiciness that traditional gumbo spices provide."
If you really dig this new brew, keep in mind that it's only out for a limited time. It will be distributed to local retailers next week.
