LAFAYETTE--The Lafayette Public Library Board of Control will meet tonight to name an interim successor to now-retired library director Teresa Elberson.

Elberson abruptly stepped down last week after the library board rejected a $2,700 grant from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities. That grant would have paid for a program that examined the history of voting rights in the United States. Read full coverage of that story by clicking here.

Tonight's meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at the library's main branch at the corner of West Congress and Lafayette Street.
