Breaux Bridge Woman Dies In Crash On Thruway

Lafayette Police say a Breaux Bridge woman is dead after a crash at the intersection of Northwest Evangeline Thruway and Mudd Avenue.

Traffic investigators say that a sedan was traveling southbound on the Thruway, disregarded a red traffic signal and collided with an SUV traveling west on Mudd Ave.

The driver of the sedan, 21-year-old Leslie A. Wilford, was taken to a hospital, but was pronounced dead.

The driver and passengers of the SUV were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department Traffic Unit.
