It was a game of firsts for many Cajuns in this one as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns ran away and hid from the Texas Southern Tigers as they routed them 77-6 setting a new school record for points scored in a game.

The majority of the damage in this game was done in the first half as each of the UL three-headed monster running backs scored two touchdowns that led to a 56-6 halftime lead. The team also recorded the largest margin of victory in school history as well.

Starting quarterback Levi Lewis was effective in this one as well. He went 10/13 with 181 yards and two touchdown passes as he was pulled late in the second quarter for Jai'ave Magalei who went 9/13 with 103 yards and a touchdown pass as well, the first of his career.

As mentioned earlier there were a lot of firsts in this game. Freshman wide receiver Peter LeBlanc of Catholic High New Iberia hauled in one pass and took it 53 yards to the house for his first collegiate score and the sideline was going bananas.

Others who scored their first Ragin' Cajun touchdown included, Chris Smith, Ashton Johnson, and Michael Orphey Jr.
