Carencro Citizens Could Be Paying More For Water And Sewage

Rapid growth in Carencro may cause increased fees for water and sewage or increased taxes. According to our news partner KATC a recent audit found that the sewage and water departments operated at a loss of approximately $260,000 for the past fiscal year. Carencro City Manager Jay Castille said the current rate of $17.50 a month could soon be increased to between $85 and $100 per month so the City is looking at grant opportunities to prevent a drastic increase in fees.
