You can be the voice of a child in court by being a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate).

CASA is a person who is trained, and then deals only with the child's needs and wants when it comes to that abused/neglected child in court.

CASA of St. Landry/Evangeline Parish are in need of volunteers to assist children through the process. You would basically become the voice of that child.

When a child is taken from their home due to some type of abuse or neglect, often CASA experts say, no one listens to them.

Those in courts, the attorneys, the child, the case worker, they all have a job to due, but a CASA volunteer is the person who talks with the child to find our their true needs.
