One of my favorite holiday events, and an Acadiana tradition, is Friday, Dec 2, and Saturday Dec 3, in Grand Coteau. The Schools of the Sacred Heart will hold their annual 'Christmas at Coteau' on the grounds of the beautiful and historic Academy of the Sacred Heart, and festivities are open to the public. It's 2 days of shopping, food, fun, and local history!

The Holiday Market, with over 75 vendors, is open Friday, December 2 from 9 - 4 and on Saturday, December 3 from 9 - 3. There will be a wide variety of art, jewelry, clothing, local art, and handmade items. You can enjoy 'Sounds of Coteau', with the lower school students performing Christmas music in the chapel on Saturday, an online auction, Polar Express pictures,an 'Eat, Drink, and Be Merry' Gourmet Luncheon and fashion show, and a 'Cookies at Coteau' event for the kids.

All proceeds from Christmas at Coteau will benefit Schools of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, and tickets are available online, or at the door.
