St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says, via a press release, that they are investigating a shooting case that happened Monday.

The shooting happened on Bradley Street at around 1:30 Monday afternoon, and 36-year-old Clarence Mitchell ended up succumbing to his wounds Tuesday afternoon.

The Eunice Police Department, the Eunice Fire Department, and the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office were called out to the scene where they found Mitchell had been shot several times.

The victim was taken to a hospital in that area, and he was later airlifted to another hospital.

Very few details about the case are being shared at this time, but officials are actively looking for the person responsible for the fatal shooting.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Department Spokesman Eddie Thibodeaux says detectives are asking anyone who knows anything to contact them.
