It's an exciting time at the location many of us have referred to as 'Four Corners' for years as phase 2 of the Bottle Art Lofts holds a ribbon-cutting.

Phase I of the Bottle Art Lofts opened last year with residents moving in. This development will feature many exciting things including the rental units, but that's not all. There is space for shared artist space, a garden area, and fitness area, and more.

Phase II will offer four stories of rental units and brings economic development to a part of the City of Lafayette that has been thirty for two decades for even more improvement.

The money to make this happen came from sources like Community Development Block Grants, state and federal money. The project also was able to progress due to private investors. This is the site that used to be the location of the old Less-Pay Motel which was eventually torn down.

Governor John Bel Edwards along with other local and state dignitaries were on hand this morning for the ribbon-cutting.

This is the facility that used to be the former Coca-Cola bottling plant and their warehouse. It's actually listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This second phase of Bottle Art Lofts features one and two-bedroom apartment units along with other common areas for residents. Phase I had forty units, and Phase II has 65 units.

Following today's speeches, there was food, music, and tours of the new facilities.
