Former LSU and current Atlanta Falcons cornerback Jalen Collins was suspended by the NFL on Sunday.

The 24-year old Collins will miss the first 10 games of the 2017 NFL season while suspended for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances.

This will mark the second-consecutive season that Collins will miss the start due to suspension, after missing the first four games last season, due to another performance enhancing substance policy violation.

A second round selection by the Falcons in the 2015 NFL Draft, Collins appeared in eight games for Atlanta last season, including six starts, while accumulating 28 tackles and two interceptions.

A native of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Collins has posted 43 tackles and two interceptions over his first two NFL seasons.
