A very popular new restaurant celebrated their grand opening by helping out one of the great charities in Acadiana. Chuy's Lafayette had their grand opening in the new Ambassador Town Center and as part of the celebration they raised $7,900 from a Facebook fundraiser and other pre-opening events to benefit Healing House. Joel Docking who is the owner/operator of the Lafayette location said:

"Healing House does such a tremendous service to the children of Acadiana. We feel privileged to help them carry on the important work they do in our community".

Healing House helps children through issues associated with grief due to the death of a loved one. They can be guided to express their thoughts and feelings in a variety of ways. Healing House representative Kim Thackston was appreciative of the donation, saying "when local businesses get involved it really can make a difference".
