McNeese Cowboys in the Big Leagues

McNeese baseball has a proud history of sending players to the Major Leagues, with 12 former Cowboys reaching the big leagues in program history. That list includes Jace Peterson, Grant Anderson, Bryan King, Cameron Foster and Will Dion. According to McNeese, it was the first time in school history that four former players reached the Major Leagues in the same season.

There could be more former Cowboys on the way in the next few years, too. Anderson's twin brother, Aidan, is playing in Triple-A with the Texas Rangers, while Grant Rogers is in Triple-A with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Grant Anderson & Jace Peterson A Part of Brewers World Series Run

Grant Anderson played for McNeese from 2016 through 2018. During that time, he helped the Cowboys win games and compete for Southland Conference titles. Anderson entered the 2018 MLB Draft before finishing his college career. The Seattle Mariners selected him in the 21st round, giving him his first chance to work toward a career in professional baseball.

Anderson is in his 3rd season with the Brewers, but he ended the regular season on the Injured List. According to reports, Anderson is still an option for the World Series roster this year.

Jace Peterson also made his mark at McNeese. He was a standout in both baseball and football before beginning a professional baseball career that has lasted 13 years in the Major Leagues. Peterson has since moved into a player development role with the Brewers, where he helps the organization develop its players.
