Why Louisiana Ranked Last

Louisiana struggled in almost every category.

The state ranked last in crime and public safety and had the worst economy in the country. Education also ranked near the bottom, along with infrastructure like roads and public systems.

Healthcare in Louisiana shows mixed results. More doctors are available than in past years, and more teens are getting vaccines. But problems remain. Depression rates have gone up, asthma affects many adults, and overall health outcomes are still poor. Environmental issues also hurt Louisiana’s ranking. Air and water quality problems pushed the state near the bottom in natural environment scores.

Louisiana Residents Advised to NOT Travel to These 9 Places

The United States Department of State regularly issues travel advisories for Americans to help keep them safe during their vacations. There are four levels of advisories: exercise normal precautions, exercise increased caution, reconsider travel and do not travel. These are nine of the 19 destinations under a Level 4: DO NOT TRAVEL advisory.
