Louisiana is known for its wildlife and waterways. Folks not from Louisiana think that we all live on the water, travel by boat or pirogue, and have alligators and nutria rats as pets.

We do have those types of animals in Louisiana but we don't know of anyone that has them as pets. When you navigate through the marshes, bayous, swamps, and lakes of Louisiana, you will most likely encounter different types of wildlife. You do not however expect to see that type of wildlife especially massive alligators inside the city limits of an incorporated town or city.

In Lake Charles, there are two major casino resorts in the city complete with two beautiful golf courses. They are the Golden Nugget and L'Auberge Casino Resorts who sit side by side in the South part of Lake Charles.

Each golf course features a ton of bayous, lakes, and marsh-like atmospheres that house fish, turtles, and yes even alligators. It makes sense though as both golf courses are adjacent to the lake that runs around the properties.

Well over the weekend one of the creatures made its presence known in Lake Charles, Louisiana by one of the casino's golf courses. Jodie Allen who coincidentally works here at Townsquare Media Lake Charles was near the Golden Nugget casino when she encountered a massive alligator taking an evening stroll across the road stopping traffic on the road leading into the Golden Nugget.

She immediately took out her phone and started recording the massive gator crossing the road. This thing is a beast and has to be at least 11 to 14 feet in length. We have seen other people record videos of the sighting of this gator so we can only believe that this massive dinosaur lives in the waterways of the golf course. Check this out.

That is one big prehistoric animal, right? Well if you are ever by the casinos in South Lake Charles, you may get to see this beast too.
