Here’s The Next Big Thing Coming to Buc-ee’s
Have you been inside a Buc-ee's recently? If you have, perhaps you've noticed some in-house construction going on.
No, that's not a gurney in the picture above. Buc-ee's is not adding a mini-emergency room to treat customers who are overcome with emotion after seeing the sparkling bathrooms.
That's a conveyer belt that will soon be moving tortillas.
Numerous Buc-ee's showcase their BBQ station in the middle of the store, staffed with cowboy hat-wearing employees (or Keith Urban) shouting 'Fresh brisket on the board!"
It appears that quite a few Buc-ee's locations are being retrofitted with this new 'Tortilla Factory' addition. Some of the newer stores already have them in place, like this one outside Birmingham, Alabama.
Why Put A Tortilla Factory Inside Buc-ee's?
Why? Because the corporate team at Buc-ee's is smart. Every day, each Buc-ee's is selling loads of breakfast tacos, brisket tacos, and wraps. Why spend tons of money buying tortillas when you can make your own?
Plus, make it a focal point of the store for another great marketing tool.
Some folks thought the tortilla factory would be the precursor of a Buc-ee's taco bar, but I haven't seen any news confirming that rumor.
The Corporate Gurus at Buc-ee's
The Tortilla Factory is just another great idea from the Buc-ees team. It features clean bathrooms, cheap ice, endless rows of gas pumps, a fun, easily identifiable logo/mascot, and the list goes on.
Even when it appears a mistake is made, like in the spelling of this billboard...
...Buc-ee's can turn that into a profit. For more on this billboard blunder story, click here for more.
