FBI Asking All Texans To ‘Be Air Aware’ On Aircrafts
(KNUE-FM) For most Texans going to the airport and getting ready to travel can be a fun and exciting time.
Especially if you’re headed to a location for some vacation time.
Although sometimes your fun flight can turn into a horrible and scary situation in no time at all.
The FBI Protects You on Flights
It’s unsettling to hear about passenger rage increasing on flights lately.
And while people can lose their temper from time to time, there are crimes that take place on airplanes, and the FBI wants you to know they are here to help.
The FBI posted on their website recently to create awareness around the fact that if any sexual assault happens on an airplane they should be notified so they can take action.

How Many Sexual Assaults on Airplanes in 2024
The FBI investigated 104 sexual assaults aboard aircrafts last year; however, they feel like the number could be higher as some incidents may have gone unreported.
In most cases the sexual assault is a form of unwanted touching, and that can end in prison time for the offender.
The FBI Says to Act Immediately
If you’re ever in a situation on a plane and someone is touching you without consent, the first thing is to make noise and tell the person to stop.
Next is to notify the flight crew immediately so that law enforcement can meet the aircraft when it lands.
Also, try to keep an eye on your surroundings, if you feel like someone is being creepy for any reason contact a flight attendant and ask for a new seat.
