I'm not real sure what is going on with the economy, only that it isn't good for the average person in Lubbock. Prices on everything appear to be going up with relatively few categories staying flat or toeing the line. In fairness, it seems like the price hikes started sometime during the COVID years and have gained a lot of steam recently.
Lubbock Residents Anticipate Higher Gas Bills This May
Just when you didn't need it, the Lubbock City Council approved a rate hike for Atomos Energy, effective this May. At least the cost is minimal with the average homeowner only paying about $1.60 more than they used to. Of course, homes that use more natural gas will see their bills rise further.
Why Is The Cost Of Natural Gas Going Up In Texas?
It would seem that energy prices, at least gasoline have been mostly flat. There's a little movement here and there but things seemed to have settled down. It turns out we can't group all energy into one group, because natural gas is going up due to supply and demand. The fact is, increased demand is causing the price to rise up.

One of the biggest ways us consumers lose money is with micropayments from subscriptions as well as one-time payment. Those things add up really fast and before you know it you owe a lot of money. The same thing is happening with energy costs, groceries, and other items. $1.60 doesn't seem like a bunch, but when everybody wants a couple bucks more, it really hurts your wallet.
