BOSSIER CITY, LA

If you’ve been craving something fresh for family fun or looking for a better job, this might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for. Chasing Aces, a brand-new golf entertainment venue, is opening this June right next to Margaritaville in Bossier City. It’s the vision of local business owner John Dudley, and it’s bringing more than just golf to town.

A New Kind of Golf Experience

Dudley told KEEL News on Wednesday:

We’ve taken the business model that Top Golf created and added what we know is going to be the revolution of golf entertainment,” Dudley said. “We’ve added a Par 3 smart course that’s a lighted golf course with technology that tracks the balls and the players.

Dudley says it’s built for everyone, from serious golfers to folks just looking for a fun night out. “You can play from 11 AM to 11 PM during the week and til 1 AM on the weekends,” he added.

Inspired by a Beloved Local Legacy

Dudley, like a lot of us, grew up playing at the old Westwood Par 3 in west Shreveport.

I was really good friends with the Netherton’s.   I remember playing with Curly Leonard, the chef at the Holidome. My dad worked with him back in the early ’60s. So bringing night golf back was always part of the vision.

He’s also adding a putting course in front of Margaritaville, inspired by the Tiger Woods-backed PopStroke concept.

We studied that model hard. I want a place where you can come with your granddaughter, your grandfather, anyone, and everybody has a great time.

Chasing Aces is More Than Just Golf

Chasing Aces isn’t just about swinging clubs.

We brought in Troon as our operator,” Dudley said. “They manage over 500 properties and also own a division called RealFood. They specialize in food and beverage for entertainment venues. If you like wings, burgers, pizza, we’re going to do it better than anyone else.

Looking for a New Job?  Now Hiring: 120 Local Jobs

Chasing Aces will be holding a major job fair April 23rd at The Simple Church on the Boardwalk.  Dudley said they are looking for servers, bartenders, line cooks, maintenance, marketing, you name it.

And Dudley said the pay is going to be good:

We’re not paying minimum wage,” he said. “Employees will get access to health insurance, 401Ks. Troon brings the kind of infrastructure that supports stable, long-term employment.

He’s not just hiring the young crowd either.

We’ve already onboarded several seniors. There are a lot of people out there who’ve left the workforce but want to stay active. I see big value in the way they treat people.

Building a National Brand — Starting Here

Chasing Aces is the first of its kind, but not the last. “We’re building a national brand,” said Dudley.

We’ll make an expansion before the year is up. But we wanted to start here, at home, and bring something exciting to Bossier City.  We’re aiming to open in early June,” Dudley said. The building’s coming together, the technology’s going in, and we’ll begin staff training shortly after the job fair.

For Dudley, this is more than a business.

We’re creating something that’s fun not just for guests, but for our staff too. It’s going to be an environment where people want to come to work.
