Purple and Pooches On Ice With Mudbugs Hockey This Weekend
After a long break for Mardi Gras, the Shreveport Mudbugs return to the ice in Shreveport this weekend. To celebrate, they're doing a couple of really special things.
First up, its one of the most popular nights of the year. On Friday (March 14th) night its Pooches at the Pond, where you can bring your dog to the game. Dress them up, or just leash them up, and bring them out for the night. Plus, there will be doggy races on the ice during intermission!
This weekend will also feature the "Lovin' Louisiana Night", which comes will some specialty jerseys. Hope you like purple and gold.
The Mudbugs' "Lovin' Louisiana" specialty jerseys will feature a pretty traditional Mudbugs design, with a bold purple and gold color scheme. A tribute to all things LSU.
Not only will the Bugs be playing in these purple and gold jerseys, they will be up for auction on Saturday night. So you can snag your favorite player's game worn purple and gold jersey that night...straight off their back.
But you can also snag a replica jersey designed hoody in the Swamp Shack this weekend too.

The Shreveport Mudbugs hockey organization has raised more banners in Shreveport than any other franchise. From the WPHL to the CHL, and now the North American Hockey League (NAHL), the Bugs have tons of banners hanging over their ice. This has made them one of, if not the, most successful sports franchises in Shreveport.
While the team has a proud tradition of winning on the ice, they also have a tradition of looking really good while doing it.
The Mudbugs logo has become legendary with hockey fans all over. There are hockey fans that have never stepped foot inside the state of Louisiana who have seen the logo before.
