
Shreveport Flooding Prep: Free Sandbags Available This Week
SHREVEPORT, LA – More rain is expected across the Shreveport and Bossier area this week. This means we could see some low level flooding in some neighborhoods.
Local government officials are making sandbags available to residents who might be in danger of flooding.

Caddo Parish Sandbags:
Caddo Parish residents will be able to pick up sandbags from the Caddo Parish Department of Public Works on Tuesday May 6, from 7:30am – 3:30pm.
Pickup Location: : Caddo Parish Department of Public Works/Fleet Services, located at 1701 Monty Street in Shreveport.
Residents can get up to 15 bags per vehicle.
Shreveport Sandbags:
Shreveport residents can pickup sandbags each day this week from 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM to help you prepare for potential flooding and severe weather. Sandbags are available at no cost; however, there is a limit of 15 bags per vehicle.
Pickup Location: Streets and Drainage Warehouse 3825 Mansfield Road
Delivery is not available, and residents are responsible for loading and transporting their own sandbags.
Bossier Parish Sandbags:
Residents are urged to be prepared for potential flooding due to the possibility that our area could see 3-4 inches of rainfall this week. This could result in flooding around local lakes and waterways.

You can pickup the sandbags between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm.
Motorists are urged to stay off the roadways if we do get heavy rains that can cause street flooding. If you must be out, please do not attempt to drive through high water. You could be putting your life in jeopardy.
