Collaborative Effort Brings Aerospace Investment to North Louisiana
Mayor Tom Arceneaux and Caddo Parish leaders gathered to unveil a new development for our community.
The North Louisiana Economic Partnership in collaboration with Shreveport Regional Airport, SWEPCO AEP, the Caddo Industrial Development Board and Louisiana Economic Development joined together for the announcement this morning about this big economic news.
150 High-Paying Jobs Coming to Shreveport
SkyWest Airlines, the nation’s largest regional airline carrier, has selected Shreveport Regional Airport as its newest maintenance base and facility to help support its fleet of nearly 500 regional aircraft.
This new SkyWest facility will create 150 direct jobs with an average annual salary of $70,000. That's about 27% above the average wage in the area. This project will bring in about 375 indirect jobs and it has the potential of bringing 525 new jobs to northwest Louisiana.

Louisiana's Strategic Focus on Aerospace and Logistics Pays Off
The strategic plan for economic development in Louisiana names aerospace and logistics as two of the top priority sectors. Louisiana has a long history as an aerospace leader which includes NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans.

Shreveport Regional Airport Becomes SkyWest's 13th Maintenance Hub
The SkyWest hangar at Shreveport Regional will become SkyWest’s 13th maintenance base, and the airline expects the base will be operational in the second half of 2025.
Incentives Package Secures SkyWest Project for Caddo Parish
Louisiana gave SkyWest a competitive incentives package, including the comprehensive workforce development solutions of FastStart; a $750,000 performance-based grant using matching funds from LED, Caddo Parish and the Caddo Parish Industrial Development Board and an up to $200,000 energy efficiency grant by AEP SWEPCO.
