Zapps and Dirty Chips Recalled Over Salmonella Concerns
I love to send people gifts with Louisiana products and often my gift boxes have Zapp’s Potato Chips in them. But I might have to rethink that for a little while. Some flavors of Zapps and Dirty potato chips have been recalled.
This recall was issued on May 4 due to potential salmonella contamination concerns throughout Louisiana and the country.
Why Zapp’s And Dirty Chips Are Being Recalled
This is a recall from Utz Quality Foods which makes both Zapp’s and Dirty brand chips. The federal warning says this problem is linked to a seasoning ingredient supplied by a third party.
No salmonella was detected in the finished seasoning. But the FDA says the recall was issued out of an abundance of caution after the supplier discovered the potential risk.
But we want consumers to know that no one has gotten sick from these chips or the seasoning.
Find out more about this recall at the FDA website.
