Pilot Powerhouse: LSU Shreveport Reaches 51 Wins, Claims Conference Title
The 2025 LSU-Shreveport Pilots baseball team is quite possibly one of, if not THE, greatest college baseball teams of all-time. They recently made history by breaking a 25 year old record for any 4 year college team. As an LSU-S grad and someone who covered the Pilots for the Almagest, I've seen a lot of great Pilots players and teams. But, I've never seen one quite like this.
The LSUS Pilots have always been good. But, this team in particular, is legendary. And over the weekend, they completed their dominance of the Red River Athletic Conference with a couple more blow out wins and a championship.
51 and Counting for LSUS Pilots
Over the weekend, the Pilots added on to their historical run by bringing their season record to 51-0, which is incredible. Actually, it's unheard of. They already broke the record for the longest win streak in college baseball history. Now, they're just adding on.
Oh, and their latest run of wins earn the Pilots their 8th RRAC Tournament Championship in program history. The championship run reflected their season as a whole - dominant pitching, clutch hitting, monster home runs and excellent defense.

What's Next For the LSUS Pilots?
The team has a record that will probably stand for a long, long time. They just won a RRAC title. So, what's next? The Pilots will now start the long journey to winning their 6th NAIA World Series.
As good as the Pilots have been in the regular season, historically speaking, they may be even better in the post season. 8 RRAC Tournament Championships. 5 World Series Championships - their last coming in 2022. These guys just shine when the lights are the brightest.
As good as the Pilots are, it's not a guarantee that they'll win it all. We see it all the time...a team gets hot and eliminates the favorite. BUT with LSU-S' championship pedigree, historical run this season and absolute dominance on the diamond, I'd say they have a pretty good shot at winning the whole thing.
If you want to support the Pilots on their championship run, they'll be back in Shreveport next week for the NAIA Opening Round. The LSUS will be hosting regional play at Pilots Field from May 12-15. You can get tickets and more details here.
