Undefeated Dominance: LSUS Pilots Break 25-Year-Old College Baseball Record
If you haven't been following the LSU-Shreveport Pilots' baseball season, you've been missing out. The team, simply put, has been one of the most dominant teams fielded at any level of college baseball.
They've made national news for out scoring Texas College 94-4 over a weekend series. They've been setting NAIA records left and right. The team has just been on FIRE.
And now, they've made more history by breaking a 25 year old record for any college team.
From Undefeated to Unprecedented, a Season for the Ages
As you can see from LSU-S's social media, on top of being the first undefeated team in NAIA history and breaking the record there for longest win streak and best winning percentage, they broke a national record during this historic run.

LSU-S broke the national record for the best start and consecutive wins by a 4 year college at ANY LEVEL. This 25 year old record was in 2000 by Savannah State - who plays at the NCAA Division II level.
So, quite the accomplishment. And I know some people have been trying to down play LSU-S and what they're doing because they play NAIA ball. But, NAIA is still high quality and competitive. Scottie Pippen played at an NAIA college. Jim Thorpe was an NAIA athlete. Walter Payton went to an NAIA school. So, to say this accomplishment is 'less than' is ridiculous.
What's Next For LSU-S Pilots?
Records are cool. But, if I had to guess, the Pilots have their sights set on something more - another NAIA World Series Championship. And the journey to their 6th championship starts on May 1st when the RRAC Conference Tournament kicks-off.

After the Conference tournament concludes, LSU-Shreveport will host an NAIA Regional May 12-15th. And as good as LSU-S was this regular season, historically speaking, these guys are absolute monsters in the post season. 19 Conference Championships, 20 Regionals, 5 World Series...so, there's a good chance these guys make another deep playoff run.
