Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry is celebrating a monumental victory for the state's pro-life movement. In early August, the last two Planned Parenthood facilities in the Bayou State announced that they officially closed their doors for good.
Governor Landry, who has long been a driving force behind this outcome, called it "a major win for the pro-life movement.".

The organization has operated in Louisiana since 1984, providing reproductive health services, cancer screenings, STI testing, and contraception.
It is important to note that clinics in Louisiana were never licensed to perform abortions, but instead focused on preventative care. The remaining Planned Parenthood locations were closed as of September 30th, 2025.
Planned Parenthood acknowledged the closure on social media, stating their "legacy endures in the strength of our communities" despite extraordinary political obstacles over the last 40 years.
