
Major Retailer Set To Close Another Texas Location
Dillard's, a major department store with locations across Texas and the United States is still dealing with a rough economy and they are having to make another tough decision and it's going to impact a mall that has already taken some hits from department store announcements.
Dillard's To Close Major Texas Location
According to chron.com, Dillard's will be closing their location at The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano after the start of the new year. The store will close by January 25 which will result in 93 job losses. According to the chron.com, the announcement from Dillard's comes after Neiman Marcus recently announced it too would be leaving the mall by January of 2027.
Dillard's in Lubbock Safe
There has been no indication that the Dillard's location in Lubbock is in danger of closing.

New Construction Coming To The Shops at Willow Bend
The Chron.com reported that the property owner plans to demolish more than a third of the mall to make way for new mixed-use development. It will include residential, retail, and restaurant space. It's even possible that the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League may move to the location if the team leaves Downtown Dallas in 2031.
