Lafayette Regional Airport Addresses Parking Issues
(Lafayette, Louisiana) - Business is good at the Lafayette Regional Airport, and people are flying out of Lafayette, but that has created a parking issue on the property, and now the airport has addressed it.
If you've flown out of Lafayette in recent weeks or dropped someone off at the airport, you may have noticed the parking lots are full.
While parking congestion at the airport may be a headache for some, it is a good sign that people are flying out of Lafayette and business is booming.
Welll, in recent weeks, some flyers leaving Lafayette have reported parking struggles, and airport administrators have heard the complaints and opened additional parking spaces for those flying out of Lafayette.
According to a social media post from the Lafayette airport, LFT has temporarily opened the overflow lot off Borman Dr. to handle demand, and passengers can access it from Surrey St., then turn onto Borman Dr.
In addition to announcing the additional parking, LFT reminds airport parkers not to park on the grass or block other vehicles. I think no one wants to return from a trip and find their vehicle blocked in by someone who isn't around.
If you don't want to deal with parking at LFT, you can always have someone drop you off at the airport or use a ride-share. This would not only alleviate any issues for you, but also help the airport with its current parking issues.

LFT says the additional parking lot on Borman Dr will remain open as long as needed, and the airport administration thanks those flying out of LFT for their patience.
If the airport makes any additional parking announcements, we will share that information here and in this station's app.
