(Lafayette, Louisiana) - A popular sports bar in Lafayette is closing, and the owners are excited to relocate just a few blocks away on Johnston Street.

If you're in the service industry, you may have heard the rumors that Legends on Johnston Street, at 4559 Johnston, is closing, and now it is official.

Legends announced on social media that, on June 10, 2026, one of their original locations would close, in preparation for the opening of the new location on Johnston St.

For years, those who go out or enjoy watching sports have frequented Legends on Johnston St., and there was just a certain feeling when you got into the small building that you were in vintage Lafayette.

With many renovations to their popular patio, the owners of Legends kept the location feeling new or "fresh" for many years, but the time has come to lock the doors at 4559 Johnston St.

If you've ever gone to this location for food, drinks, or to visit friends on the patio, you willl likely miss this Legends location, but the new location coming to 4401 Johnston St. will offer a new vibe for those who love Legends and a new hangout spot. The opening date of the new location has not yet been announced.

We congratulate the owners on their new location. Like most of Lafayette, we can't wait to visit the new sports bar this upcoming football season and try many of their signature margaritas and menu items.
