One of our favorite persons in Acadiana is KATC's Chief Meteorologist Rob Perillo, but even Rob has to deal with trolls on social media.

For some reason, there are still those on social media in 2024 who feel the need to argue and name-call on platforms like Facebook, and Rob has seen enough on his social media page.

Sure, there's always room for a good discussion on social media. Still, when the conversation turns to name-calling and misinformation being shared, it is time to address the immature behavior on public pages.

Rob recently warned those who follow his public page that he will no longer allow or tolerate name-calling, weird conspiracies, or fighting on his page. The popular meteorologist in Lafayette said he would block and delete users if they continued with such behavior.

Perillo would go on to encourage those who want to participate in fighting and trolling to move on to another page because those days are over, on his page.

Again, I don't think Rob is shying away from a good discussion amongst those on his public page, but like many, he too has moved on from the days of social media just being a battle royal.

Here's the message Rob had for those who follow his page, which is very informative on weather and other topics.

One more thing, on behalf of Rob, can y'all please be nice? We are past the days of trolling and being ugly on social media.
