A woman in Estherwood, Louisiana posted on social media about her horrifying experience while at a gas station off I-10, and now she wants you to be aware of a potential threat.

Breana Larry's post on social media has gone viral after she explained what happened to her while at a truck stop in Acadia Parish.

According to her Facebook post, Breana was at a gas station when a stranger walked up to her car and attempted to open her door while she and her child were in the vehicle.

She says that the male companion she was with walked to pay for the gas and then returned to the car to pump gas. While on the opposite side of the car, a man exited a nearby vehicle and pretended to walk towards the story. He quickly turned towards Larry's car, and that is when he walked up to it and attempted to open the door.

Aware of the strange vehicle near her, Larry says in her post that she locked the doors as a precautionary measure and luckily she did.

The man pumping the gas was alerted by Breana and he approached the man who attempted to enter the car.

According to the viral social media post, the man who attempted to open the door on the car retreated into the store, and Breana says he appeared to have a gun in his possession. They did alert the workers in the store of this scary incident, but now Breana wants to remind all of you to be aware of your surroundings while at the gas pump.

I often tell my wife and friends that when you're at a gas pump, your head needs to be on a swivel, and you should stay off your phone. Don't let yourself be distracted.

Sadly, this isn't the first time we report on such an incident from a gas station, and it won't be the last. However, you need to stay alert and never let your guard down. I'd also suggest that if you have kids in your vehicle while at a gas pump, take the keys with you upon exiting your vehicle.

Here's a look at the vehicle that was parked near Breana's car, which the male subject exited from.
