A mule pulling a Mardi Gras float in the Krewe Du Vieux parade was startled and started to run wild as spectators looked on.

The large animal got antsy at the start of the parade and took a turn off of the parade route, where it stopped against a wall.

No one appeared to be injured in this bizarre incident, but it is a reminder that horses or mules in parades can be stated and when they decide to run wild, they may be hard to stop.

The parade paused for approximately ten minutes while handlers attempted to contain the mule that ran astray.

This parade in New Orleans is known for its comedy and, at times, raunchy messages. Now, we can add that the Krewe Du Vieux is known for the time when a mule decided not to participate in the parade.

Handlers were able to disconnect the animal from the float and its night was done, as it did not return to the parade route.
