UL Looking for Volunteers to Hold USA-Shaped Flag on Football Field

(Lafayette, Louisiana) - The University of Louisiana is looking for volunteers to hold a massive USA-Shaped flag on the field before their game this Saturday, September 5, against Lamar.

In an on-air interview, a representative for UL told us that during the pregame festivities for the season opener at Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium, the university will remember 9/11.

It will be 25 years since our country was attacked and so many Americans lost their lives, and now UL wants to honor the 25th anniversary of 9/11 in a way we've never seen before in Lafayette.

A massive American flag will be stretched across more than half the field as the National Anthem is played this Saturday evening, and now UL would like to invite some to help stretch the flag across the field.

UL Athletics is inviting all Veterans and First Responders to sign up to volunteer to hold the flag as we remember the days that changed the world.

UL to Remember 9/11 in Pregame Ceremony

If you are a First Responder or U.S. Veteran and would like to be on the field this Saturday night for the pre-game festivities, email Sean Flannery at UL Athletics to sign up.

Kickoff this Saturday night is at 7 pm, but you will want to be in the stands before then to see what UL Athletics has planned as we remember 9/11. It'll be a night that you'll talk about for many years to come.
