Louisiana Summer: 9 Post July 4th Deals That Actually Make Sense Here
(KMDL-FM) If Memorial Day is the beginning of summer and Labor Day marks the end of summer, then it's a pretty safe assumption to surmise that July 4th is the middle of summer.
But for retailers, Independence Day signifies the beginning of a shift in what consumers will be looking for. That means a lot of summer items go on sale after the July 4th holiday. If you're looking to save money, then let's look a little further.
Why Louisiana's Unique "Lack of Seasons" Helps Us Save Money - Why it Works
Personally, I think seasonal savings are based on seasons that Louisiana doesn't really have. Sure, we mark winter, spring, summer, and fall on our calendars, but winter is less about cold and more about damp; spring is a few weeks of thunderstorms and pollen; summer never seems to end, and if it weren't for football season, we might not even notice we have that season.
So while we in the Gulf South deal with our unique seasons, the rest of the country gets to have four of them. I guess we have our four too, but ours are Crawfish, Hurricane, Football, and Hunting. It might not work in other states, but in Louisiana, those seasons work just fine.

For us, that means we get to save on summer merchandise while we still have a whole lot of summer left. And you might be surprised at what is put on sale that we still have plenty of time to put to good use before the kids head back to school.
