(KMDL-FM) The controversial social media platform TikTok is once again in the news. No, not because it's going to be banned in the United States. No, not because U.S. investors are going to buy the platform. No, it's not even because "Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday and right now you can save 50 pounds per person". Y'all did hear the story behind that story, right?

I guess we say that to say this: TikTok can be influential in a lot of different ways. Let's just say if you come up with a post that hits, you can become famous around the world overnight.

Another way TikTok shares its influence is in the realm of food and food preparation. One of the hottest food trends on the platform right now is Dubai Chocolate. If you're not familiar with the treat, it's a specific type of chocolate bar that is filled with a pistachio cream and crispy bits of shredded phylo dough, known in Dubai as kataifi.

Which Dubai Chocolate Ingredient Has Been Recalled by the FDA?

Since the ingredient list is pretty simple, a lot of people on TikTok have been posting videos of them making Dubai Chocolate at home. Unfortunately, a key ingredient in the viral recipe is going viral for the wrong reason. It is being recalled by the Food and Drug Administration over concerns with Salmonella contamination.

The product that is being recalled by the FDA is Emek Brand Pistachio chocolate spread. It is sold primarily in World Market retail stores. The recall was instituted after samples of the product tested positive for Salmonella, which can create major health issues for young children and older adults. In fact, it's not good for anyone who has a weakened immune system.

The recalled products were distributed between June 11 and July 9th of this year. If you purchased the products, it is suggested that you do not ingest them. It is suggested that you return the unused portion of the product or any unopened jar to the point of purchase for a full refund or replacement product.
