Lafayette Fire Department Rescue Man Trapped in Storm Drain

(Lafayette, Louisiana) - The Lafayette Fire Department posted on social media that it rescued a man Tuesday afternoon from a storm drain.

Photos on their social media page show a man climbing out of the storm drain after firefighters lowered a ladder into it.

According to their Facebook post, LFD, along with other emergency personnel, responded to a call Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of W. Pont Des Mouton Rd.

Someone reportedly saw a flag coming from the drain and notified authorities. Upon arrival, that's when they found the man in the drain below.

The Lafayette Fire Dept. says in their post that the man was in the drain for two days.

As of now, there's no word on how the man may have fallen or gotten into the drain, or whether he was truly down there for that long.

Here are photos of the fire department rescuing the man. This bizarre incident is under investigation by the Lafayette Police Dept.
