
Lafayette Police Arrest Two Teens in Armed Robbery Shooting
LAFAYETTE, La. – Two Lafayette men are behind bars after a robbery turned violent over the weekend, leaving one man wounded and hospitalized.
Victim Shot During Robbery Attempt
On Saturday, June 7, just before 9:40 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to reports of a shooting in progress in the 300 block of Feu Follet Road. Officers arrived to find a male victim on the ground with a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical teams provided care at the scene before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, the victim is expected to survive.
Investigation Leads to Quick Arrests
According to Lafayette Police Sergeant Robin Green, detectives quickly determined that the motive behind the shooting was robbery.
After identifying two suspects connected to the crime, warrants were issued, and both individuals were taken into custody.
Suspects Booked on Attempted Murder Charges
The suspects, both 19 years old and from Lafayette, were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on serious charges:
- Damon Clay: One count of Attempted First Degree Murder
- Christian Darby: One count of Attempted First Degree Murder
