Lafayette, Louisiana (KPEL News) - Open those closets and find the ugliest pair of pants you own! It’s all for a good cause, as the Down Syndrome Association of Acadiana (DSAA) prepares to host its Inaugural Bad Pants Open Golf Tournament at Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club (100 Club Drive, Broussard, LA).

Tee Off for a Purpose

DSAA President Molly Guidry joined Acadiana’s Morning News on Wednesday to discuss the upcoming event, which promises a day filled with golf, food, fun, and live music for the whole family.

The tournament is being organized in partnership with X Technology and The Gia Foundation and is scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2025, with tee-off at 7:45 a.m. The entry fee for a team of four is $750.

Big Prizes Up for Grabs!

Not only will participants enjoy a fantastic day on the course, but they’ll also have the chance to win some major prizes, including:

  • $500 each for Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin prizes.
  • $2,500 each for Best Bad Pants (Individual) and Best Bad Pants (Team).

Participants will also receive breakfast and lunch, with awards and a silent auction kicking off at 1:00 p.m. To close out the day, the Beau Young Band takes the stage at 2:00 p.m.
