Last month, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations detectives began investigating after the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office notified them about the cruelty allegations involving an LPSO deputy.

Matthew Frost, 28, was arrested Monday afternoon after detectives confirmed that the allegations made against him were accurate. According to Louisiana State Police, the investigation determined in June of 2024, Frost committed the offense of cruelty to a juvenile against a single victim on two separate occasions.

After an arrest warrant was obtained, Frost was charged with two counts of LA RS 14:93 Cruelty to a Juvenile, which is a felony in the state of Louisiana.

Frost was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on Monday. However, the investigation is still active.
