LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) - A second arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Tameron Willis of Lafayette, law enforcement confirmed on Thursday morning.

Aerial Biagas was arrested in connection with the shooting, according to Sgt. Robin Green of the Lafayette Police Department. Biagas has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of illegal discharge of a firearm.

The Lafayette Police Department (LPD) has made an arrest in connection with the fatal shooting that took place on Saturday, February 1, 2025, in the 200 block of Arthur Street.

According to an official release from the Lafayette Police Department, Markeisha Lawrence, a 26-year-old woman from Lafayette, Louisiana, has been arrested on warrants charging her with second-degree murder and illegal discharge of a firearm. Lawrence has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Victim Identified as Lafayette Teen

Authorities have identified the victim as 15-year-old Tameron Willis, a resident of Lafayette. According to News 15 in Lafayette, the victim's father, Daniel Montgomery, said his son was walking home that evening because he had a curfew.

"He was trying to get home because he had a curfew and had to be home for 8 o’clock,” Montgomery told the news outlet. “I think he got hit in the crossfire."

"We don't know if it was a drive-by; we are still investigating,” Sgt. Robin Green told News 15. “Our investigators are still looking into possible leads of what happened. As of yesterday (Monday), we were back on scene canvassing and trying to find what additional witnesses that may have any information."

Incident Timeline & Investigation Updates

At 7:21 p.m. on February 1, officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the 200 block of Arthur Street. Upon arrival, LPD says, officers located Willis suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The officers who arrived at the scene did attempt life-saving efforts, but Willis was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
