
LPSS and Love Our Schools Partner for Serve Day 2025
LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) - The Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS) is continuing its collaboration with Love Our Schools, a foundation dedicated to enhancing education, through Serve Day 2025 on Saturday, March 22, 2025. This initiative will bring together community volunteers to work on school beautification and student motivation projects across seven LPSS campuses.
This partnership aligns with LPSS’s four core pillars—culture, opportunity, growth, and safety—ensuring students thrive in a positive learning environment. Through hands-on service, volunteers will help create engaging, welcoming spaces for students and teachers alike.

Serve Day 2025 Projects
Volunteers will assist with various improvement projects, including landscaping, pressure washing, and decorating educational spaces. Participating campuses and their projects include:
- Katharine Drexel Elementary – Window painting with LEAP testing encouragement, light landscaping, and pressure washing.
- Scott Middle – Teacher lounge decorations and landscaping at the front sign.
- L. Leo Judice Elementary – Refreshing the car rider line, lounge, and restrooms.
- Northside High – Outdoor seating reset, bulletin board updates, and pressure washing.
- Comeaux High – Library furniture assembly, pressure washing, and decorative enhancements.
- Milton Elementary/Middle – Litter pickup following the Spring Carnival.
- Live Oak Elementary – A new literacy garden, outdoor science classroom, and additional seating.
